here's what i've used to wiring correctly my horn, and it works the one on the top is oval wiring and the one below is the one i used Title: Re: re: a '66 horn steering wheel exploded view Post by: Fiatdude on February 15, 2011, 15:47:55 pm I've probably mis-discribed my problem -- it is in the area of steering wheel and how the horn ring attaches to it -- I went down to wolfberg west and bought one of those $5 horn contact kits (113998225) that have the 3 new screws and the springs and plastic washers and it just doesn't allow much movement of the horn ring
Title: Re: re: a '66 horn steering wheel exploded view Post by: Wünderwolff on February 16, 2011, 07:58:04 am No it doesn't, I have been puzzling on the original ones for quite some time as well. But when you look at it, it doesn't need a lot of movement, it's either honk or not.
I can't remember exactly, but if I'm not mistaken, there are some plastic washers as well, to isolate the horn ring from the steering wheel. I'll check if I can dig the steering wheel out and if it is complete enough to take pictures of. |
