Hello guys,
well it seems to keep temps under control, i will need to use an intercooler...
So.. do you think an air-air IC can cool enough in a notch or should i go water to air instead?
I was figuring to make a scoop in a spare decklid aronson style, but i dont know if ithe airflow would be enough to cool??

It all depends on where you position it in the car. Is the car all steel or is it cut? I have mine in the middle of the car with fans sucking air through the IC.

I would put it under the decklid,
and then a scoop on the lid...
but i dont know if the scoop will catch a lot of air?

I am not sure you will get enough cooling. Engine heat.

If you have a smaller IC from a SAAB you might be able to put it by the gearbox.

BMW has some small intercoolers as wel, and they're pretty easy/cheap to find in belgium.
or something in the volkswagen range as well, just look at some diesel intercoolers because that kind of turbocars are found more in belgium than the petrol ones.
I'm going to try to put mine infront of the sump end go up from there, not sure if that will work, we'll see

but the bigger= the better  (core efficency beside)
4 factors: core size, volume of coolant( water or air), temperatur of coolant and efficency of the intercooler core.....also pressure drop should be a reason.

so what is your goal with it? want you go fast all the time or just for the stripe?

How does the air flow over a notch? Following the roof shape and creating turbulence behind the car or following the rear window down to the decklid? Why not use a huge and effective air/air intercooler that you integrate in the decklid completely? No scoop but just cut one big hole and paint it. You can also isolate it somehow from the engine heat and put a big bag of ice on top of it when you have to cool it down in between races  :)

I wont drive fast on the highway : 90 - 100 km/h
the car is more for stop light action...
I want to go fast when i push the throttle :)
but most of the time i drive slowly with some fast bursts now and then ...

a water-air should be better i guess then?

your idea sounds good, i dont like all the tubing water tank etc you would need for a water cooled..

one big with fan or two ones with fan can do alot for you like armin klein do.

for dragracing and short sprints the watercooled is very good and with a good made watertank you can add ice and get more than 100% efficency for te stripe. that can cool down to 10-20°C in the manifold.
we did such a setup during the days.
also in my engine bay you see nothing that say it is turbocharged.

where are you going to mount the intercooler?
because maybe it's easier to take an intercooler where the inlet and outlet is on the botom or on the front, all to minimalise tubing work :-)
I'm going for a stock top mount impreza intercooler,becouse it has 3 exits, that makes it easier to go to the dubble throttle bodies
 not realy big, but it will mount under my 356 grill, think it will be cool enough there once I isolated it from the engine heat
and it was only 30euros, so that helps as wel :-D
