Hey

Nice pics there Speedwell. All of them looking different from the other. And allsoe from what i have.
So what do you think? Should i weld a new glass pack with the four bolt flange and tip from the original mufler or a quietpack muffler for the sound?
IŽm not out looking for the real "callook time" specs. Just getting the car out and ready for the summer cruises without spending any money. Just take what i have in my garage  ;D

The car is an for now, all original ruby red 62`modell with a reliable AS1600.It  will just get a front lowering and 356 replicas with 155/15 and 205/65 for the summer.

I will keep the four bolt flang, but what if i weld a quietpack to a four bolt flang for the header?
Has it been done beafore? And what came out of it? Would it be proper to do?

Heres the car for the the cruising year 2011

Hey Patrik, dont worry if its proper. Do what you like ;D It will look cool with either muffler. If it was my car I would keep the nicer glasspack and paint it white. Then I would cut the flange and tube off the other glasspack, weld it to a quietpack, and paint that hi-temp black.

This car will make a beautiful pre-cal. The 356 wheels are a perfect choice. I prefer 185/70 or 195/65 over the big 205/65. Have fun and send me some pics when you've made progress.

So, I just looked at your pic again and one muffler has a 3-bolt flange. I would not cut the chrome, 4-bolt since it probably "original". Get a cheap quietpack, cut flange off and make your own. It shouldn't be too difficult.

ThankŽs Lawrence

Yes, the crome muffler is probably the original but just to bad to repair.
Thats why i thought of welding the four bolt flange to a quietpack instead to get the noice down a bit. But as you say, make a new flang wouldnŽt be a big thing to do.
But also considering, bying a cheap glasspack and use the tube from it and take both ends from the crome and paint it white would be cool.

IŽll keep you updated Lawrence. Just waiting for spring now so i can get the car home and get started.

pat , your new ride looks cool , as lawrence said , 356 chromies wheels is the good choice , for a pre cal , look what gregg bunch does on his 64 ride , he asked tiger to made an e[attachment=4]xact copy of his original muffler he had in the late 60's  ;)

the red car wasn't gregg car

Hey Fabs. I Hade a look in the latest book from Keith and saw the pic of Greggs old car. Nice!!  8).

Not really shore what iŽll do with it yet.

Anyone have any roadworthy experiance of this type of header. What iŽve understand it wasnŽt really a performance type of header compared to a merged type header.
But sans the experiance i would like to know if some one else hade any? Give me your thoughts. , please.
