I figured you guys might get a kick out of this thing..

My buddy and I put it together as a gag years ago..  I'm thinking early-mid 90's
As it turns out, it ran pretty good! Good enough for me to make a few passes at Brotherhood Raceway on it! Ha!!

It's heartbeat is a CB400 Honda, six speed transmission. She develops a bit of speed wobble mid way through top gear.. it clears up as you top end the bike but you still have to endure it when slowing down :o

I'm sure Jayburn remembers this bike well ;)

AWESOME, DAVE! The equivalent to putting a Porsche flat eight into a Type 1 Bug. I want to ride it.

Ready for this? It's a Harley!
Two stroke Italian made but it does say "Harley-Davidson" on the side covers. I have no idea who actually built the motor for H-D.
Oh yeah, like any self respecting 70's Chopper it has a peace sign sissy bar, jockey shift and suicide clutch...

And where's the picture of you in the burnout box with your beard smashed sideways against your face from the G- forces?

All of that work for a Four-into-One.

You could've cut the headers at the bottom of the down pipes.

So what if it's loud. You were crazy from the inception! ::) ;D

I know that Harley and Aermacchi built some models together. Maybe it comes from the same joint venture?

Dave, tell them about the race against the  Ranchero at the Brotherhood!!!

The race I remember best was against the red '71 Chevelle!
Seems like I raced him 2-3 times and won each time!! Ha! The driver later told me on the first race, he could hear me and kept looking in his rear view mirror but I was nowhere to be found... that's because I was out front! Remember, the mini had no light, we were racing at night and Brotherhood had poor track lighting at best.
The trick for me was to leave in second or third gear, grab a handfull of throttle and just speedshift the rest of the gears quickly as possible! I'm sure I was at top speed within 300 feet or less..
Wow that was a long time ago...

The burnout was my favorite part!
Third gear burnouts would smoke that poor little knobby pretty good ;D
I'll try to find that old trackside photo.. should be priceless :o

Well.... we really didn't spend too much time on the build.
1) First night: Over a meal afterhours at my shop we decided to see if the engine would fit. That night it was a roller!
2) Second night: Built the exhaust, cut a chain, simple wiring, add fuel and presto! It's a runner!
The rest is history ;D
Crazy history ::)

J-F,
Thanks for the info. I knew there was a connection there.. The Chopper engine looks very similar to the one in the mini bike you posted.. I'll dig it out this weekend and post some pic's.

Turtle,
We both have the same problem! I dig vintage Honda Mini's myself, I always wanted one as a kid but never had the cash. I now have one Z50 and five Trail 70's. None of them are restored but they're all in pretty good condition.
