Title: CB Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch - Reviews
Post by: delbay 71 on April 07, 2011, 16:35:58 pm
Hi

Considering buying a CB Performance Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch for my van but wanted to know if anyone had any experience (good or bad) with them before I bought and fitted it?

My van is running a 2332cc motor with a mild cam and twin 42mm throttle boddies.

Really just after feed back on the clutch as an item, other than its pretty expensive  :D

Many thanks.

I'm quite happy with the Centerforce disc. Paired with a KEP stage 1 it holds up to a 200+ hp 2276 motor, providing I don't launch it. It's easy to modulate and
way lighter than the Black Magic disc it replaced.

Thanks for the info, I just didn't know anyone running one of these and wanted a fuzzy feeling before parting with my cash! I don't think I will be up at that kind of power so should be ok for my daily.

Cheers

I've been running the Centerforce dual friction disc (from Bergs) for several years, including in my current 2332 cc (180 WHP).

I've been very happy with it and every time I check it (when changing camshafts), it still looks good and within spec.  I have almost 12,000 miles on it so far, first with a heavy duty plate and now a KEP Stage 2 for three years.

My Beetle sees both street driving (most days) and also 1/4-mile racing on weekends...very smooth for both applications.

I believe it is also easy on transmissions, or at least is one factor...

Thanks very much. Well I've ordered one now, I will fit early next week before my rolling road session on Thu. I'll let you know how I get on.
