Title: Berg shifter handle styles... Post by: Jordy/DVK on April 27, 2007, 21:39:12 pm Hi guys, Does any of you know anything about dating Berg handles? No I don't mean to take my Berg handle out on a dinner-date or something, I was just wondering from what years certain different styles are. ;) Cheers, Jordy ;) Title: Re: Berg shifter handle styles... Title: Re: Berg shifter handle styles... Post by: larry mck on April 27, 2007, 22:34:23 pm The problem in dating them is that Bergs sold the different handles as a custom order through the years. When I got my 5 speed shifter about 4 years ago I asked for the old finger grip style and got it, but 2 years ago they said no, sold out.

I really have no clue when Gene Berg Ent. started manufacturing their shifters to be honest... (http://www.keversite.nl/fotoalbum/fotos/49181.jpg) Title: Re: Berg shifter handle styles... The original onces have the the Fixing Holes in a different position that the late onces.... I remember Clyde telling me that they even used a different mold.... The original Finger grips used to have the fixing holes at 5 O'clock position, all the later onces have it at 7 o'clock position........... Frank Title: Re: Berg shifter handle styles... I would like to have all the info possible on my shifter: The earliest one I've seen was sold by Daniel Hood a year or so ago to a guy building a replica of his old looker. It had the finger grip handle and a brass button. We were told by Clyde that Berg bought out all the old stock of DDS shifters and used pieces until used up. Title: Re: Berg shifter handle styles...
