Deano what were the specs on the wheels you got, as far as -Offset....std is 2", I assume that means positive, or towards the outside of the rim -Widths....15x4 and 15x6? -Lug holes....14mm ball seat? The 4" rim has a 2-1/2-inch back spacing (same as the DDS). I don't have my DDS 6" wheel here, so I can not compare it right away. But I think the U.S.A. Wheel has a slightly greater back spacing. I also noticed that the U.S.A. Wheels have a more noticeable lip on them, which shows up when you mount them with a 135 tire. I am using 12mm studs in front, and 14mm studs in the rear.

So it seems with the backspacing on these wheels, everything will fit OK (tuck under) in stock VW fenders with stock suspension components (no narrowed beam, etc). So with the ball mounts, you can use either 12mm or 14mm in the 14mm hole and it will center correctly. So, you must have the correct hole size and matching lug setup. My old '67, with a stock beam and brakes, had 4.5-inch DDS wheels with 135s with no problems. I am going to machine down the lips on all of these wheels before I use them...
