Collecting parts for my new engine, and I don't really know what rods to go for. Anyone tried these?

Same old stuff in a brand new bottle. All H-beams and I-beams are made in China. The only difference is the quality of the rodbolts and how accurate they are machined.Spend the money on the rods because a failure ther is very bad for youre wallet. Cb sells them so does Scat, Empi has them and several fly by night companies sell them for less but with weaker bolts and some even sell rejects. It´s a jungle out there.

That's what I thought. The add states ARP 5/16 or 3/8 rod bolts, but I read something on the other cal-look forum about some rods on the market having "fake" ARP bolts. Not sure on what to belive...

He allso states that the rods are checked over and balanced in house..

My budget won't allow fine rods like carillos, what rods should I go for.

I bought cb ones that come with arp 2000's,
i think these are good rods..
some extra insurance maybe..

Scat 3/8 rod bolt Hbeams puts a little more confidence in a rod. However the old school Hbeam Eagles have worked extremely well with the 5/16 rod bolts.

I'm using 5.5 CB Hbeams with ARP bolts for my 2nd 2332 engine. That engine was a breeze in terms of clearance.  CB Hbeams seems to have a good .018+ side clearance on many conrod journals regardless of crank brand. I guess its good for flow but an oil pump better provide the flow to keep up. It should be fine though. Scats seems to be on the tight side for sideclearance and getting them machined/skimmed for more sideclearance is a good idea for high revvers.

I'm starting to plan my new engine for the '59 and I've been doing alot of reading and it seems Carrillo rods, while expensive, are very good. My budget will allow for Carrillo's so what do you guys think, are they worth it? My application will be a 2332/2387, high compression (we want to run 11's NA)

carillo is one of the best rods so no problem there.

It'll be easy get into the 11's running a high compression engine.  You should consider scat Hbeams with scat ARP 3/8 rod bolts. The rod bolts is the weak link. There are many hardcore guys at the track  beating on Scat H beams for years with little issues.
