Title: turbo cams Post by: Andy Sykes on June 11, 2011, 19:48:40 pm hi first of all this may have been done to death but i couldnt find much using the search,
currently my longblock was set up for N/A at 9.5:1 i have decreased this to 8:1 when i fitted the T04B but since im going bigger and putting a lot of time into the car im going to split the case and change the cam basic spec is 2332cc denham heads (og castings) welded and ported cb case DTA EFI NOS intercooled water injection turbo spec as follows Compressor Wheel Inducer - 65.0mm Compressor Wheel Exducer - 92.0mm Turbine Wheel - 83mm T4 Twin Scroll .90ar what cam would you guys go for and is it worth going to roller cam? cheers andy Title: Re: turbo cams Post by: volkskris on June 11, 2011, 21:00:27 pm JPM. the best out there. ;)

He's the Man. Title: Re: turbo cams Post by: Ragtop on June 13, 2011, 11:14:22 am I use his cam in my engine. Very nice!
Title: Re: turbo cams Post by: Neil Davies on June 13, 2011, 14:37:04 pm I know Matt Keene (All Torque on here) uses a JPM cam in his wasserboxer, and picked up a load of horsepower. He'll probably chime in with what exactly he did, but if I'd got a motor of your spec, I'd certainly be looking at JPM. Not cheap though...
Title: Re: turbo cams Post by: StrokerMcDell on June 13, 2011, 18:40:37 pm Copy of email from Johannes when I enquired about price.
Ive decided not to go to all the extra expense and just get a WebCam 86B on 112 lc I think i read somewhere that Matt originally ran a WebCam custom 86B/86C which was replaced by the Raptor. Hello, JPM01012T Matched lifters, brake in oil and paste are included in the kit. Raptor cam kit is 4995sek or aprox £454pound, custom is £635pound. Shipping to UK aprox 33pound. Thanks Johannes Title: Re: turbo cams Post by: BeetleBug on June 13, 2011, 19:50:37 pm Ive decided not to go to all the extra expense and just get a WebCam 86B on 112 lc I think i read somewhere that Matt originally ran a WebCam custom 86B/86C which was replaced by the Raptor. Did you decide not to buy a Raptor even though you have read about Matt and his experience? Did you miss the fact that without changing anything but the cam he dyno`d a lot more HP? Title: Re: turbo cams Post by: Andy Sykes on June 13, 2011, 20:19:19 pm thanks guys ive been in contact with johannes today hes has my info so we will see tmw but looks like this is the way forward
cheers andy Title: Re: turbo cams Post by: StrokerMcDell on June 14, 2011, 13:24:26 pm Ive decided not to go to all the extra expense and just get a WebCam 86B on 112 lc Did you decide not to buy a Raptor even though you have read about Matt and his experience? Nope, I didnt miss any of that. Without doubt Johannes' cams are extremely good , I just dont need (or for that matter can I afford) a cam that will make 450hp when all I NEED is 400hp. I think there are too many guys out there who feel the need to go balls out on everything ! If it was a custom grind WebCam 86b / 86c ( and i'm not sure if it was ) then I'm not surprised he got a better result with a different cam !! regds Title: Re: turbo cams Post by: Andy Sykes on June 19, 2011, 16:57:16 pm Johannes has got back to me today with his recomendation
"JPM01712T should be very suitable for your combo. It has 258deg at 0.05", 9.57mm cam lift and 113deg LC" so its on its way soon cheers andy Title: Re: turbo cams Post by: mrmut on June 30, 2011, 17:43:17 pm basic spec is 2332cc denham heads (og castings) welded and ported cb case DTA EFI NOS intercooled water injection turbo spec as follows Compressor Wheel Inducer - 65.0mm Compressor Wheel Exducer - 92.0mm Turbine Wheel - 83mm T4 Twin Scroll .90ar what cam would you guys go for and is it worth going to roller cam? in - FK8\ ex - FK7 for street race , hot street race in - VZ30\ ex - VZ25 in - FK89\ ex - FK87 for Drag , for Drag Racing in - VZ35\ ex - VZ25 any of these cam. Title: Re: turbo cams Post by: mrmut on July 03, 2011, 20:12:02 pm What does the car weigh with you in it, gears, rpm range wanted? race car or........ In my opinion the more rpm the more horsepower. I would go like this..... Beginning of 2500 maybe 3000 rpm to 6500 rpm Street Racing Car.... From 3000-3500 to 7500 - 8000 Drag Race Car........ How would you bullets. (1,600cc x 5500rpm x10,5CR)\910=101.5HP (1,600cc x 6500rpm x10,5CR)\910=119.9HP (1,600cc x 7500rpm x10,5CR)\910=138.4HP (1,600cc x 8500rpm x10,5CR)\910=156.9HP This looks at Honda VTEC VTI ;) --- Always leave more horsepower In my opinion here would look like this 1Bar - boost 8:1 CR 8x(1+1)=16 Real compression (16:1)CR (2.332x6500x16)/910=266HP According to experience 310HP (2.332x7500x16)/910=307HP According to experience 358HP (2.332x8000x16)/910=328HP According to experience 382HP Whenever possible horsepower Title: Re: turbo cams Post by: markvo on August 01, 2011, 20:30:54 pm So very wrong mrmut
I doubt you tripled your horsepower with 1 bar of boost, at best double If you double the compression from 8 to 16 to 1 you would only gain about 25.4% gain in power NOT the same as boost either! Title: Re: turbo cams Post by: mrmut on August 01, 2011, 20:52:10 pm So very wrong mrmut I doubt you tripled your horsepower with 1 bar of boost, at best double If you double the compression from 8 to 16 to 1 you would only gain about 25.4% gain in power NOT the same as boost either! 1Bar - boost 8:1 CR 8x(1+1)=16 Real compression (16:1)CR I think with T4 turbo spec as follows Compressor Wheel Inducer - 65.0mm Compressor Wheel Exducer - 92.0mm Turbine Wheel - 83mm T4 Twin Scroll .90ar We will achieve these results (2.332x6500x16)/910=266HP According to experience 310HP (2.332x7500x16)/910=307HP According to experience 358HP (2.332x8000x16)/910=328HP According to experience 382HP You would grsham. Prove to me your claim of 25.4% Title: Re: turbo cams Post by: Andy Sykes on August 10, 2011, 21:46:42 pm well we will soon find out cam is here 8)
