Title: american racing le mans wheels
Post by: beatnik beetle on June 22, 2011, 10:12:33 am
OK...I have a lovely restored set of the above to go on our garage find 67 that we worked on back in 94 ( 120k miles from new) been in a garage since 97  ;)..but, I would like to ask the wealth of knowledge on here about wheel bolts for them - I must admit that the easiest way looks to be to machine out the bolt holes to use a more common bolt or stud/nut combo but, if something else is available then even better..I'm sure a few of you have run these wheels in the past..

Thanks..Simon

I had some on my 67 for awhile. I took them off because they would flex on corners though. I just drilled the lug holes out so i could use regular mag type lugs.

Simon, are they the four spoke wheels? I think Jez West has a set on his '72 if it's the car I'm thinking of!

Thanks Nico - same as those, @ Neil - your right Jez has a set but, he had to do a lot of messing around to fit them and I'm trying to go down an easier route if there is one:o)....I was wondering what bolts were used back in the day...

Thanks guys..Simon

I knew I'd seen another car with them! :D Bryan Fye has a set on his notch - he might be able to say how he fitted them. Have a look here: http://cal-look.no/lounge/index.php/topic,3608.0.html
