Title: Old School Berg Breather Box Question Post by: 65bug on June 26, 2011, 00:08:00 am Hey guys,
I have a few questions regarding my Berg breather box. So I have 3 outlets in my breather/oi filler. One goes to left valve and one to right valve cover. A third outlet goes to my right air cleaner and mounts on top. I know this third outlet to my air cleaner top lets the motor breath in and out, utilizing my air cleaner to protect the motor from airborne debris as it breaths. Here's the first question: 1. When engine rpm's rise fast, air is pushed out through the top vent and into the air cleaner. Is some air pushed down into the valve covers as well? I assume it is, with some possible oil mist correct? So, should my lines going to the valve covers( which are below the breather box of course) slope down to the valve covers directly from the breather box? With no uphill turns in the lines? Or does it even make a difference? 2. If there's a uphill slope in the line to the valve cover, would any oil build up there eventually be pushed uphill from air pressure and down into the valve cover? I guess my question is will I lose and breathing of the engine system with a line running up from the Berg box? You can see on the picture where I put a 90 to run the line up and over the fan shroud to give a more clean appearance! Just curious if this is a no no.[attachment=2][attachment=3] My motor is close to being done. Need to do some more wiring clean up. Timed it today! Test spin. Awesome with traction bar installed! ZERO wheel hop!!! Thanks[attachment=2] |
