2 brilliant albums, a real shame, but not a surprise!  What a waste.

It was just a matter of time before she took a Janis.

Wow, funny there's a name for it. I was marveling at her being 27 like many others.

I don't understand these people that make such horrifically dumb decisions with their lives, as it pertains to drugs and alcohol.  Such a waste of talent and ability.

One who has not had an addiction cannot understand it.

RIP, Amy.

Without wanting to sound like Mr. Mackey ( ;D), I don't understand why people make the choice/decision to do something that's common knowledge to be destructive/unhealthy/potentially lethal... I guess that was kind of where I was going with that, but yeah, it's true I don't have firsthand knowledge of addiction, myself (gratefully so).

Yup. Some people think they can have a little fun now and then. But sometimes the drug gets hold, and doesn't let go.

fun is not the only motivation. a lot of addicts have depressions or other mental disabilities resultung out of childhood abuse or traumas. my wife works at a hospital where people like these are treated and belive me, its HARD work trying to save somebody from themselves. some people have lives to go through you wonder why they are still alive, addiction is just a way out.
