Title: Help needed! Bleeding brakes incl stagingbrake!
Post by: Basti on August 16, 2011, 07:02:08 am
Hy Guys,

is there any hint how to bleed the brakes when you use a stagebrake?

I canīt get good preassure on the pedal...  :-\

The spec is: drums in the front and willwood disks in the rear.

Thanks,

Basti

I have always found the bleeding process easier when I take a very clean bottle half full of brake fluid and a clear tube off the bleeder fully submerged to just crack the bleeder and start pumping.   Pump about 7 times and move to the next.  start at passenger rear then driver rear followed by passenger front and finally driver front. Do this twice and then do the pump pump hold method. Has always worked for me stage brake or no stage brake.
this might sound retarded but I usually Jack the back higher than the front to help along the air bubbles.

Hope this helps.

Bleeding a car with staging brake needs the following procedure:

Start with the wheel furthest from the master cylinder.

Pump the footbrake - Hold down
Have 2nd person open bleeder screw
Pull Staging Brake - Hold
Close Bleeder
Release Staging Brake
Release Foot Brake

Repeat until no air at bleeder - then move to second furthest away and so on.

Will take longer than normal and requires 2 people unless you can pressure bleed the entire system with a good pressure bleeder.
