Post by: beetletom on August 30, 2011, 15:32:29 pm

It's all in the caliper. If it's one of the stock looking calipers(gold in color), then it's basicly the same as any other brake kit. They are buying them from the same supplier and repackaging with there brand on it, the rotors might have a little different machine work on the mounting surface, but it's still a 5/205 using the same size bearings and the spindle probably needs to run a late tie rod end. If you can, use a kit that utilizes the wilwood calipers, those are nice kits

For the record, I've had the 5/205 dropped spindle Empi kit on my bug for the last five years trouble free, works great. I put the Neal 5/205 kit on my notch 10 years ago( non drop) with wilwood calipers and that worked great as well. So really the decision is how much do you want to spend

i had  a set of  airkweld bad billet fronts with willwood 4 pots and it seemed like a good setup the main advantage for me was my tendancy to change wheels often ::)
and the bad billet ones have interchangable hubs nut never heard a bad thing about csp ones or neal   :)

I second the Airkewld units ... really dig being able to change bolt patterns! Only takes an hour or two and your rolling down the road.
