Title: Any tips for installing a camber compensater
Post by: Sam K on September 14, 2011, 14:05:07 pm
I have a customer's 67 beetle at work that I resealed the engine and transmission on and I'm not sure how to re-install the camber compensater. It is the Sway-A-Way type with the red urethane pads that sit under the axle tubes. Even with the car on the ground, there is too much preload in it to bolt it to the tranny. I've never used one of these before. Help!

Jack the car up. Install the bracket that bolts to the trans. Using a jack, jack the camber comp spring up into the bracket and make sure the bolt hole lines up. Push the bolt all the way through, release jack, and put the nut on the other side. Careful, there's a lot of tension.
