Title: One Piece Windows
Post by: cal-look.net on May 23, 2007, 18:08:24 pm
Hey guys,

looking for some advice please!

I have one piece windows in my bug and one thing that has always bugged me is the poor one piece door window rubber kit I have.

I am looking for a better set of door window rubbers, the felts I got in the kit are OK, but the rubbers are just straight won't flex and look bad!

Any suggestions? I seem to have some vague memories of some universal rubbers that can be cut to length that can be glued in around the curves of the doors?!?!

Cheers!

Steve

I had a set that I bought in the late 80's early 90's From the german car company that had shaped rubbers but I don't know if they are still around. Good luck

i made little slids in the rubber to shape them around the corners. works, but you need patience.

I've been looking into this and there is no ideal solution, the GCC style seals are good because they curve up at the end but they do grip the window
the bugpack seals are good because they have the felt inner but they don't curve at the ends

I think nicolas has the right idea, to make small cuts in the leading edge to make the bugpack style scrapers curve at the end :)

I recall the Bergler having some nice ones that were done by auto glass shop.
