Post by: guillaume on November 30, 2011, 22:04:25 pm
Hello,

Could you help me ? I am looking for pictures of DDS Deano linkage (or new Bugpack swivel linkage) with 48 ida, Fan and magneto.

I am having some trouble to use mine. Maybe I will be to modify something ?

Thanks for your help guys :)

The rod and the linkage part will touch the cap of the dizzy or the body of the magneto (see the red marks made on the photo).
I thought about monting the rods with a push/pull instead a pull/pull.

I think you have the center mount bolted to the case backwards!
Then the spindle will be much closer to the generator and not behind the distributor/magneto and the cable will attach on the opposite side, and your linkage arms will balance out better ... threaded in more on the right and less on the left side ... even.
Try that and see what goes on ...

I think he has the linkage base correct, check out the photos John L posted of Tar Babe...

The base is on correct I had the same issue with my 1835 and I had to put a small spacer under the main swivel to have it space upward so that the linkage would not hit the distributor cap.

They say to hook the pedestal rods up from the bottom, but on my Deano DCN kit I had to attach the left rod on the top of the pedastal pivot so as not to hit my 019 disty's cap.
