Fellow Rennwagen club member Richie Moss ran a set until fairly recently:

And one I found on the samba, but star cut type:

My old '62...

My '66 circa '91, the first day I got it back on the road. I hadn't had the chance to raise the rear by then so it looked disco-low.

Bubbles up front with Michelin 135s (later Camac 145s--sooo much better traction and turn-in even though the tire was poorer quality). Rear was 185/70 Pirelli on 15x5 Centerlines with 3.75" backspace (if memory serves me).

If you run 'lines you MUST run press-in studs with the quick-start nose and zinc-plated open-end lug nuts. It makes a car just plain look tough. And they're safer and easier to thread too. Win/win situation.

I'm soooo embarrassed by the bumpers. It was the thing to do at the time. A real Cal Look towel rack.  :-[

Hey, those very front tires (155/80-15 BF Goodrich) are in my garage waiting to go on my '62! I bought them from John (hemifalcon). They're going on Lemmerz 356 wheels with Porsche brakes and stock spindles. They tuck a lot better with my setup.

And we also mount tires on them.

ohboyohboyohboyohboy...

Salgado's car is in my opinion one of the most faithful Cal Look cars. Shaved, conservative color, one-piece windows, light wheels, big engine, slicks...all business. Studded drums, too. :) When I think Cal Look I think of that car in the same regard as Holmes'. Two different eras but the same car. Timeless (well, at least from the '70s onward at least.

He came by to visit in the '90s when worked at Kymco. That car is suuuper biiiiitchin'. My apologies for the poor-quality photos.

Cool Pictures
These pictures are when Greg Lane owned the car. Greg had purchased the car from Johnny minus engine and trans. He had a street trans built and threw in a 2007cc. T bars were also reblaced by euro bumpers. Greg was an active member of DZK in the 70's so he saw fit to place some original DZK Stickers in the quarter windows.
