Wishing a very happy birthday to one of the best DEEKS ever!!!

Enjoy your day Vince!!

Thanks so much for the well wishes everyone. We just got back from a delicious Japanese yakitori dinner (gave the bacon fried rice a rest this year) and now enjoying some birthday cake and a glass of wine with the wife. As some of you know, I was drag racing 1/24th scale slot cars at the track in Buena Park when my fellow Deeks finally were able to track me down.:) Haven't raced much as of late but still enjoy building them. If you ever built plastic models, you know painting them can be at times frustrating with the mess, fumes, over spray getting everywhere and dust specks that always seem to land on that last perfect coat of paint. Well, Michele and my son Michael gave me what I consider the ultimate tool for any scale builder out there...

A Pace Spray Booth with fume suction fan and filter. For those who are Facebook friends with my wife can view how HUGE the present was when I found it on the sofa this morning. Can't wait to try this bad boy out!! I can't thank them enough!  :-*

That is VERY cool, use to race slot cars in Whittier next to the paint store where they sell car paint, can't remember the name at the moment. But it's about a long block from Norwalk Blvd. Track is long gone now. Anyway, that IS very nice.

Dang, I was at BPR today racing on the Flat Track.
I'll have to stop in and check out the Drag Racing program sometime soon.
FYI Vince is a very talented model builder as well as an above average racer at the track, and owns a few records here...

Hey Bruce, I was racing Saturday night for the first time in over a year and a half. Place was pretty packed. Had a fun time shaking the cobwebs off the cars! What are they running on Sundays? I haven't been in the loop since the new owners took over.

Sign me up!
I've also got an extra Beetle if anyone wants to borrow it for Bracket racing.

Surprisingly, I don't have a lot of VWs in my box (maybe 6 that are ready to run). Might have to throw a few more together soon. Here is one of my older ones that I race consistently (at least back when I raced on a regular basis).

That puts mine to shame, but here it is...

Just changed the wheels and tires to some newer Pro-Tracks and it looks much better than this in person. It's an old HTF Dubro body.
I don't have a good pic of the loaner, but it's a Candy Apple Red Beetle panel body on a Womp chassis. POS w/16D but okay for bracket racing ;)
