Thanks so much for the well wishes everyone. We just got back from a delicious Japanese yakitori dinner (gave the bacon fried rice a rest this year) and now enjoying some birthday cake and a glass of wine with the wife. As some of you know, I was drag racing 1/24th scale slot cars at the track in Buena Park when my fellow Deeks finally were able to track me down.:) Haven't raced much as of late but still enjoy building them. If you ever built plastic models, you know painting them can be at times frustrating with the mess, fumes, over spray getting everywhere and dust specks that always seem to land on that last perfect coat of paint. Well, Michele and my son Michael gave me what I consider the ultimate tool for any scale builder out there... [attachment=1] A Pace Spray Booth with fume suction fan and filter. For those who are Facebook friends with my wife can view how HUGE the present was when I found it on the sofa this morning. Can't wait to try this bad boy out!! But it's about a long block from Norwalk Blvd. Track is long gone now. Anyway, that IS very nice.

Just changed the wheels and tires to some newer Pro-Tracks and it looks much better than this in person. It's an old HTF Dubro body. I don't have a good pic of the loaner, but it's a Candy Apple Red Beetle panel body on a Womp chassis. POS w/16D but okay for bracket racing ;) [attachment=2] |
