Title: GB Shifter
Post by: Jesse/DVK on January 02, 2012, 20:39:33 pm
Guys,

I bought a Gene Berg shifter with the small writing. Could anyone tell me if I still need to put the spring as orignal between the shifter and plate? I now have some play in every gear.

Any tips on adjusting this?

Jesse

Jesse, as far as i know, and reading the Berg Instructions, No spring. Did you renew the nylon bushing holding the shift-rod ?

Harry, thanks. That was my next idea to replace the shift rod bushing. Already replaced the coupler last year so that one should be ok.

Maybe when I drive the car I have less play due to power on the gearbox (or something like that :P )

Jesse, how much is "play"... I have a little in all gear positions with coupler and shiftrod bushing installed.

In all gears about 1,5 cm left to right (1nd & 2nd) / right to left (3rd & 4th) and about 0,5cm forward to rear
