Title: Quick piston-rings question
Post by: Nico86 on January 09, 2012, 19:47:59 pm
I was about to buy a replacement piston-rings set for forged Mahle 90.5 pistons, but there are 2 sizes available : 1.5 x 2 x 4 and 2 x 2 x 4.

Unfortunately I don't have my rings set with me to check it, do you know wich size I have to get? Pistons/cylinders are new, what size are they out from the box of the Mahle kit? I need a replacement set only for one piston, since I broke one ring while mounting  ::) :P ;D

Thanks!

NICO!

OK, the last set I bought were 1.5/2/4.
Hope yours are the same! ;)

Thanks Tom! Thats what I've ordered. I've broke the intermediate ring and I need to replace only it for one piston, so I think it will be ok if it's 1.5 or 2 on the first ring (if sizes are given in the good order)  ;)

The middle ring on both sets are 2mm so you should be good to go as far as replacing your broken ring.
