Title: Deutz liners and piano wire mod. Post by: Bad bug on April 29, 2012, 20:37:49 pm Hi All,
I am building on paper a 2.7ltr t4 engine with deutz liners to be used as a daily driver has anyone done the piano wire mod to a t4 head and deutz liner before. Post by: m.m.p on April 30, 2012, 08:09:07 am Its done on highly stressed watercooled engines to give more of a "bite" into the original head gasket, make a 1mm wide and 0.8-0.9mm deep groove in the middle of the barrel sealing area and use 1mm wire. This makes a high point for the wire to bed itself in to the metal gasket ring.

Well if this idea was used i would have to do a lot of machining since the Deutz liners are way hard. I think i would want to try the piano wire route. Title: Re: Deutz liners and piano wire mod. Cheers Hey how is the waterboxer doing, haven't heard anything about it since you made a couple of runs at santa pod. By the way can this car be street driven. |
