Title: Mid mount Post by: Diederick/DVK on May 03, 2012, 11:00:08 am Has anyone got any experience fitting a mid mount like this one?
As I understand the rubbers need to compress in order to install the mid mount, but my attempts so far have been in vain. [attachment=1] I figured I'd ask around ;D Title: Re: Mid mount Post by: tikimadness on May 03, 2012, 11:58:16 am I would weld one in!!
Michael Title: Re: Mid mount Post by: Diederick/DVK on May 03, 2012, 14:57:13 pm I wouldn't. Rule of thumb is all solid or all rubber and I ain't going with solid mounts, hence I wanna use what I already have. :)

I would think that would work. You will need a long 27mm box end wrench in order to break it loose and get it tight again.

Just one question, won't that put the front mount (front rubber) under a lot of stress? Title: Re: Mid mount Post by: Hotrodvw on May 04, 2012, 06:43:12 am I run a stock nose cone mount, a mid mount like you have there, and a solid rear mount. I installed my mid mount on the trans with it out of the car. Doing it in the car may require a jack like suggested. My solid rear mount is great......no issues.
Title: Re: Mid mount Post by: ibg on May 04, 2012, 07:24:48 am Cos frame horns vary a bit you need to trim the urathane untill it is a firm fit but not forced or yes, you will tear the front mount. Guess how i found that out :-\
