Title: Oval Drag car
Post by: tmf66 on May 20, 2012, 12:22:37 pm
Due to poor health I am having to sell my Oval drag car project.

Below is a bit of a spec list with links to various suppliers.

Jim Smith of Cotsweld Race cars has carried out the majority of the build work on this and the quality of his work speaks for itself, which I'm sure you already know.

1. Steel single skinned oval shell with fibre glass doors hinged (big wig race car hinges) and latched with original handles and front end with dummy headlamps.
2. Cotsweld Race Cars chassis, strut front end swing axle rear.
3. Robinson race cars front struts, no springs
4. Latest rage aluminium steering rack with cotsweld steering arms etc http://www.dansperformanceparts.c...p/buggysusp%20rack&pinion.htm
5. Front disc set up mounted on ally hubs USA ford 5 stud fitment
6. Jaz fuel cell mounted ready. http://www.jazproducts.com/drag_fuel_cells.html
7. Ex Jim Smith gearbox, gusseted, caged, HD side plates, Spool, 3" shorther drive shaft mounted with aluminium motor plates.
8. Ron Lumus Racing rear disc brakes Chevy bolt pattern http://www.ronlummusracing.com/brakescomponents.html
9. Strange rear calipers http://www.strangeengineering.net/catalog/index.html
10. Protech rear shocks and springs. (built specifically for the car) http://www.protechshocks.co.uk/build-a-shock
11. Bogart racing wheels from RLR http://www.ronlummusracing.com/wheelstires.html

The chassis is tagged see image.

The tyres on the car are for build up and rolling purpose only and selected to be the correct width and diameter so you can see how the car will sit.
The body is rust free and has been primed ready for blocking and final prep for paint
I also have a pair of willwood calipers that I was going to use  for the front.

Please contact either myself or Jim at Cotsweld for any further info or images
The car is located in Gloucester England
£5500.00 ono

To clear up a few queries.

Further pics added.

The first post shows the car as it is now.
It has no Aluminium panelling.
There is no steering column or seat mounts fitted allowing you to have the vehicle left or right hand drive.
The gearbox is for NA motor

Hope this helps

I have replied to PMs as requested.
