My handles are slightly different the pull button on mine almost have finger ridges, will these fit 1969 doors.  I also have a pair of VW heritage doors that are waiting to be fitted, if they fit them then I will take them.

 Sorry for my bad eyesight! :)
 But you can see some "dark" on the key, through the plastic ... Is that rust?
 And on the door handles, it's a bit hard to see what is oil, and what is / or, if there is rust.

I gave them a clean,and one of the decklid catches at the same time,just cleaned off the cosmoline,yes there is a little rust on the key as you can see from this pic
