Title: What are you building that prevents you from working on your cars?
Post by: Lids on July 03, 2012, 08:13:35 am
All of us have excuses why are projects seem to take years even decades.

so i though I would start a thread whereby you can show what you are doing instead of working on your car.

For the last month or so, I have been sorting out my front garden.  New top soil, levelled, edging, grass sead.  Landscape fabric and bark.

Finally a new fence to stop rubbish blowing into my garden.

What am I building? An overdraft! >:(

That's one of the reasons I'm having a clearout! That and the fact that I'm building a collection of projects I'll never build! :D

Housewise in the last year or two I've redone the bathroom, new wooden floor in the hall and lounge, replaced all the internal doors (just need to fit doorhandles...) and built an outdoor run for my cats - we've got eight, including three pedigrees, all housecats! Next project is the garden - that'll be a monster...

Pulling the frames off of uni-bodied cars is quite a challenge, too. I wish you well with your endeavor, John.

Too much things to do, to much quick projects that turn to major rebuild and all the little things that kill your planning and motivation.

Like burst a tire and wait 2 hours to have it changed...

A nicer place to split wood. Six months ago this was a vast pile of (frozen) soil and bricks. This is why my rims are minging!

It aint the size, it's how you USE it! LOL

ULTIMATE pit bike?
Anyhow, it's a freakin' BLAST to get together and race in the parking lot with friends.
They even have classes to race at local tracks, but I prefer the lot.
When you're on someone's fender, speed no longer is perceptable ... it'll go about 50 with current gearing.
Turbo?

HeHe

I know that I am... (but that doesn't stop me from having fun!)

Tom - my CRF50 has a BBR 106cc motor and I'm gathering parts to build a similar motor for my Z50RD. Build thread at http://www.tinyurl.com/TxZ50RD

looking good.  8)
same here garden work, tools of torture.  ;)
Garden thing of beauty and a job forever, it will take all the effort you put into it.
40 roses and a dozen Plumarias make springtime something to look forward to.
Downside is it can fill 10 cans of greens a week this time of year.

Mostly other cars! Although I did just complete an addition to the garage.
I am in the middle of a 29 Ford Roadster Pick Up ground up build for a friend, along with my own 37 Ford Coupe, my 63 Falcon Convertible Auto Cross car and I still need to finish the new motor for the Anglia Gasser. Seems like work just gets in the way! LOL

What am I building?  At present, I'm working on increasing both my level of patience as well as my checking account, as both have been taxed by my current engine build.  Lol.   ;D
