Title: What kind of oil?
Post by: splitblitz on July 05, 2012, 10:06:52 am
I will soon start up my 2332 built on a almost NOS ARPM-case and Super Flo heads. It's a nice and harmless engine (approx 140-150hp) that will be driven on the street. What kind of oil would you guys recommend?

I've been using Syn oil designed for v-twins -- high in zinc -- my 2919 was perfect when I pulled it apart the last time

LAT racing oil.

Bang pulled the engine apart from the Jäegermeister turbo Bug a while ago and the bearings was looking
like new would have been reused but Bang got a better case for the engine.

LAT oil is full synth and has alot of zinc and other additives that our aircooled engines can benefit from.
Zinc additive is very important but there are additives that's as important as zinc additive.
Yes I sell LAT oil and I have seen what it can do to a VW race engine in real life and I am sure of the
quality of the LAT oil.  In a nitrous oxide eqquipped engine I would never use a mineral oil due to the
suddenly high load and high temperature.

I was visiting Shawn Geers (co owner of LAT Oil) this spring and he told me that LAT oil is the big thing
in V8 Pro Stock racing, 4 stroke MX racing and in the top VW Turbo cars.
