Title: Urethane bushings ? Post by: Chris W on June 16, 2007, 02:49:56 am I am going to re index my torsions and also replace the bushings while doing it. I could re do them with rubber, urethane or the back ones that Bug Pack sells. It’s a streetcar that will get a mild 2L and will see 98% street use. What would be my best bet? I have heard that wheel hop will be reduced by going urethane, but they are a pain in the ass to install. Thanks Title: Re: Urethane bushings ? Title: Re: Urethane bushings ? Post by: Cheesepanzer on June 16, 2007, 17:08:27 pm I'd recommend Urethane. I just did a set on my Ghia and was surprised at how easy the install went. The key (I think) was to clean everything and to install the bushings that rest in the torsion housing in first. I tapped them in with a small hammer and it made indexing my spring plates easier and the whole thing bolted together very quickly!
Also, be sure to use the lube that is provided so that they don't squeek. 8) |
