Title: Help I need a pair of Type 3 backing plates Post by: Black Sheep on August 03, 2012, 23:53:51 pm Just bought a new pair of early type 3 rear drums and shoe's for better braking on my mate's 59 van that I've IRS'ed but I'm having real trouble finding a pair of backing plates large enough to fit , any bod got a pair ?
Need to be post 64 , help needed here please :-* Title: Re: Help I need a pair of Type 3 backing plates Post by: Bryan67 on August 05, 2012, 23:32:15 pm Type 3 backing plates are all the same minus the adjusting holes on later ones. You can even use Thing or Type 4 plates as well.

If you plan to use Type 3 drums, they you HAVE to use the correct backing plate and wheel cylinders. Type 1 stuff will not work. |
