Title: Single port 1679cc type 1 engine... 90Hp.
Post by: Crazy Mc.Stairs on August 28, 2012, 21:12:34 pm
Hi all,

Today I've dynoed a 1679cc engine I've made for a customer, and it pulled 89.8Hp at 4550Rpm and 155Nm at 3200Rpm with stock size valves and single port heads.

This is a daily driven car, it's a vintage engine (Theo Decker) style, not a race engine! ;)

Cheers,

Christoph

Impressive. I have a 88 x 74 single port in my cabinet, 236' @ .050", .480" @ valve, someday going in a nice '66 Bug. This is encouraging. 8)

Thanks Jim, I 've used a 245° @ .050 and .480 @ the valve on the intake lobe! ;D

Cheers,

Christoph

NICE!!! Chassis Dynos can be deceiving though...you should try a quarter mile to back up the numbers...

Did someone say Single Ports??  Gentlemen step up to the bat and purchase MY heads from the 70's...  1600 s/p kadrons 15:01 @ 87 mph in Notchback.  Freshened by the talented Fred Simpson and now just need a good home with Love.  Sorry to jack the thread boys...  Peace out, Dyno       ps, BTW... Your engine looks sweet , makes good power, and will a blast to drive.  Enjoy...

Now we are getting down to serious bussiness. Will be putting my 1835 single port with Teo decker kit on the dyno at JPM in oktober. To give you a hint it wont start with the six volt battery so I have a 12 volt to get it started then I leave it to the magnet when i change to six volt. Drove it down to germany last spring for Maikäfertreffen with lots of power and great gasmilage. Would like to hit over a hundred but who knows.

Hey, congratulations with a wonderful engine :)
Would you tell us a bit more: What kind of camshaft, exhaust and compression?

I hope my 1915 SP makes some power similar to that! Sounds fun and looks very cool too! I like the car as well.
