Title: Who's running Pieper lifters?
Post by: andy198712 on September 17, 2012, 18:45:15 pm
Is anyone running T.Pieper's lifters? They weight in at only 57gram!?
Thinking I'm going to order some up to help lighten the valve train.....

Cheers

Hi!

Yes, I'm running Thorsten's lifters and many of my clubmates as well. None of us has ever had any troubles with them.
BTW: Thorsten will be at Bitburg next weekend and could probably bring a set for you if you or a friend of you would pick them up there.

Cool, i notice they have a single oil groove, is that any issue? ie less oiling with Hoover mods or is the groove wider? or am i splitting hairs here?

too soon for me, he seemed happy to send them though so no biggie :) but cheers for the heads up, i'd love to pick his brains!

I use them to and no problems so far. They are a very nice piece. The groove is single but larger. And they weigh only 55 gram.

Hi

Just want to thank Thorsten Pieper for this great Tool Steel Lifters.

After my last engine teardown I checked them and there was neither a noticeable nor a visible wear.

I was running ISKY #9935 valve springs set to 2.000 installations height @ 221 lbs and 1.380 open @ 525 lbs
with my old 910 Autocraft heads and FK 47 cam and steel valves for three races and about 15 runs.

I'm running the same valve springs set to 2.030 installations height @ 206 lbs and 1.420 open @ 510 lbs
with my new Billet heads and titanium valves for six races and about 30 runs.

Even one Lifter didn't rotate and their location was changed during two engine teardowns the lifters and the cam were not harmed.
