Post by: Whyshchuck on June 27, 2007, 02:10:49 am
Hello

Do you know if it's possible to install systems like compufire or illuminition in 010 without any remakes?

Thanks

Thanks,
but I've also heard that Pertronix aren't very realible. Are they?

I've used them for years and I'm using one in my daily driver right now. I did have an issue with one about 15 years ago where the rivets that hold down the module worked loose and caused some misfiring. Also if you hook them up backwards they fry.

I have a pertronix in my 010 (12V). Worked flawlessly for a couple of years now..

Why do these things "give you twice the voltage to your spark plugs"?

The only trouble I had was when the screw that holds the unit down came loose - not really a problem I just tightened it and it has done me well for over 5000 miles  :)
