Title: Remotec Wheels
Post by: Dave_81 on January 28, 2013, 10:10:50 am
[attachment=1]Hello, I´m new here. I have got Remotec Wheels for my 67er Bug. My Wheeler Dealer is not sure what kind of tube I must have for the Remotecs. Can I use normal tubes or are there special ones for it? Thank you ![attachment=1] ???

One off the German DFL s club member runs Remotec wheels (porsche 5 studs) maybe he knows, his mates are on here, don t know if he is.

Cool find, very cool wheels..

You don't need tubes.

Ok. I thought I need tubes because they have no hump!

Hi Dave,

Also bitte auf keinen Fall ohne Schläuche fahren!
Viele Grüße,

Georg

Hi Georg, hatte mir jetzt schon zur Sicherheit Schläuche gekauft. Also alles richtig gemacht. Dank dir für die Antwort. Gruß

The safety beads have no bearing on tube or tubeless construction. Volkswagen adopted tubeless tires for all vehicles in 1956 but neither it nor Porsche added the safety beads until 1968. Some Porsche wheels did not get the beads until the 1970s. And Porsche offered radial tires during the period that the beads did not exist.

The safety beads merely hold the tire on the rim in the event of a sudden pressure loss (blowout). A tube will not help in a blowout. You will be perfectly safe with tubeless tires on wheels without safety beads.
