Post by: richie on February 12, 2013, 19:03:43 pm
We need a 68 on LHD beetle drop arm/link that connects the steering box to the steering arms,we only have early small hole or RHD

Anyone got 1 or 2 kicking around?

Hi Richie,

I may have one as I bought it by mistake. Only problem with it is I trimmed the steering stop arm off it...
Any good to you?

Lee

No probs, saves me trying to find it in the black hole that is the garage:)

Richie, aren't '68s the same as '66 and '67 with the smaller track rod ends and the '69 onwards have the larger ones? I seem to remember having trouble getting the right ends for my car as everywhere thought it was '68-on, not '69 on for those bits. Of course I may be completely wrong about all of that! :-X

Neil

all that I have seen shows 68 on as bigger track rod end hole, doesnt mean thats fact though, there arent many cars I worked on that havent been messed with ;)

Thanks Ron,hoping to put the body back on the pan this weekend and it would be handy for the front wheels to be connected :o

cheers richie

Good cos there was only the steering box itself at my workshop - Glad you got it sorted  :)
