Title: Chop top ghias ?
Post by: Frenchy Dehoux on March 08, 2013, 17:34:47 pm

Can someone post various pictures of chop top ghias showing various angles and side panels. If you have pictures from the beginning to the end would be cool. And how much was it chopped.

Thanks
Frenchy

Chopping a Ghia makes the roof so small compared to the rest of the car, it looks out of proportion in my eyes.

Wasn't Bernard Newberry's Ghia chopped?

Hi

to all the Ghia choppers and likers.
This is my version of a chopped Ghia:
6,5 cm front chop angled front and rear window and slightly altered roof radii.

This is one of the few ghia's chopped that got it right. I can see dropping the wind screen down to get roof more parallel with the bellt line of car. But its pretty hard to beat the design of one of the best shaped cars. Was and is a pretty car. Like Zack said, They start look'n long when chopped.
So keep on choppin'

Mexx, that's the best looking chop I've ever seen on a Ghia. Smooth and sleek. Well done!

I prefer Ian and Bernards roof chops, but Mexx's is good enough to bring the ghias into the 21. century, take notice Volkswagen AG.

This car belongs to our SOVW club founder and the man behind The Oregon Bug-Ins of the 80s and early 90s, Mark Gosson.

i think that a roof chop on a ghia is better looking then on a beetle most off the time.
