Title: Jetting recommendations
Post by: Rocket Ron on May 11, 2013, 18:08:06 pm
Looking for recommendations for jetting for my engine I know it's difficult but looking for a base to begin with

2276cc
Fk46 cam
Cb wedge port heads
10.8.1 compression ratio
Ida's with 44 vents
Full weight bug
Short box

Thanks in advance

Check my thread that Richie replied to. Martin and I went out with that set up on the street and it drove lovely but had loads of top end compared to the 40 vent set up I had before.

This all in the 67? Lee
Ps, will show you where to get a very good price on jets....

Why not use a smaller vent to run the engine in?

I have somewhat similar combo:

2332 cc
Raptor 274-degree 0.425" (similar to FK47)
CB 44 x 37, then JPM 48 x 38
10.7:1 CR
IDA's with 42, then 45 vents
Full weight stock Beetle (2,030 lb with driver)
Short gearbox
Dynoed best with 34 degrees advance

180 mains
210 air
F7's and F2's (tried both)
60 idles

12.8 ET at 104 MPH with drag radials, no burnout and poor driver ;)

Ron,I think they are wedgeports, not ultra wedgeports ;)

as its new,70idles to bed the cam in,then try 65 idles

something similar to Lees will get you out and running safely

cheers Richie

Hi Richie

My bad  ::)

Just as well we fattened the idles up when we bunt the cam in last week , got to sort out the valve lash today as its the first time a free moment since last Monday when we did the burn , then I can take it for a drive   :D.

Valve clearances at zero when cold ?
 Regards Ron
