Title: Mounting External Oil Cooler - frame ideas or best position
Post by: stait9 on June 11, 2013, 21:39:46 pm
Hi everyone

I've got to mount a new cooler and was wondering if anyone has some advice or pictures on where best mount it, in particular any ideas of good brackets.  The previous one was simply mounted to the underside with some rubber mounts.  It resulted in slightly restricted air flow and I've seen a couple of pics and cars but it's quite hard to get right under cars at shows.  Also just discovered a friend can build any Aluminium frame I just need so help designing it.

Cheers

Stuart

Thanks Lids, quick question - is this set up running a cooling fan?

i don't think so as it is mounted to the torsion bars, it could be made to work though.  This is a pre made kit

Sepi,

What size of u-clamps and oil cooler/fan set up did you use?, that looks really neat.  8)

I used a 75 mm clamps for exhaust - which is 3". Then some welding for brackets and now this is adjustable. Just simple innovations here and there-
The fan is a 8" from Australia - don't remember the manufacturer
