Title: 1966 Sunroof Beetle Post by: Bryan67 on June 22, 2013, 20:52:33 pm Just bought this unfinished project. Super clean 1966 sunroof. Complete pan off resto. Powder coated pan and suspension, original 1300 motor, Lots of NOS parts. I`m not a big fan of steel sunroof cars so it`s probably a good thing this has one or I would be tempted to keep it. And since it such a clean original car and rolling on brand new bias plies I will resist the temptation to Cal Look it.

What`s the opinion on this? Would it sell for more as a really nice stock car or a mild Cal Looker with a stock drivetrain and maybe some chromies and Porsche caps or some other wheels?

Title: Re: 1966 Sunroof Beetle Post by: Bryan67 on June 23, 2013, 18:20:30 pm I think you`re right Zach. I think if it didn't have restored wheels and new whitewalls I might. But that`s just because I would want to see it that way.

(http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1160253.jpg) I've got a few electrical/electronic tickets. Just the sight of all that stock VW wiring system nearly has me frothing at the mouth, no little clips to hold it down, no looped up string for a loom, doesn't even have tape or plastic tubing to hold it. HELP! IT WILL FLOAT AWAY! DO SOMETHING, QUICK!!! :D Apart from my personal issues interfering a bit, I like the bits a lot! Nice colour. ;D Title: Re: 1966 Sunroof Beetle Post by: Bryan67 on April 01, 2014, 14:45:17 pm Wiring is done and the wiper motor restored with an NOS motor.
