Title: Mendeola transmissions
Post by: Andy Sykes on July 04, 2013, 20:44:51 pm
Hi guys I have more transmission issues with my vertigate 930 box

1 the ratios are shite
2 the diamentions from the starter to the flywheel are way out

So I'm seriously thinking of scrapping it as at the moment it's no use to anybody it don't fit and it won't work

So what Mendeola box I've looked at web site and I'm confused lol you can't get vertigate but can you also have pro rings ?

Cheers andy

at least 2 inches longer than a type 1 box, with IRS you can move the box into the car more, better than with swingaxle were you are screwed and it moves the engine back.

To answer your original question, a Mendeola MD4 drag[still over 2inches longer than a type 1 box] can be ordered with the provision for the Vertigate shifter, mine is that way, and either syncros or Pro ring/slick shift, the 2 things are not connected, the vertigate shifter is how the gears are selected, the syncros or pro rings are how the gears are engaged.
But none of that will not overcome the fact that your cage etc is in the way of the path the shift rods would take.
My flywheel to starter distance is still not ideal and really the case needs machining where the starter bolts on to bring the starter in more, but I believe there is more of an issue with the flywheel you chose, supposedly its way off where it should  !!!!!!

We have now Mendeolas with Finnish dogring gears in use. One with vertigateshifter in turbouse (Jyrkis pauter-oval) + normal shifter in my -51 N/A racer. Of cource the Mendeola is more weight into car, but then you can consentrate on doing the car more light elsewhere and just drive and not repair gbox after every weekend...

Now we have plenty of gears in stock and i will be with those in JPM-dynoday.

Ask for more: info@kuplapaja.com
