I run one of these and it is lighter than Hi Torque and stock starters.

Its actually a brise starter for a 356 and fits 12v beetle flywheel.   They weigh in at 2.5kg and are £295 plus vat each

I won the one in the picture off ebay

I contacted phil west a while back looking for advise on which brise starter I needed as I knew he runs one & he said its the 911 one with the correct 25mm pinion for use with a 12v flywheel, the 356 one has a 29mm pinion. You might want to check that out Ron?
