Title: Fuel pump for swirl pot Q Post by: Dead Dog on November 20, 2013, 10:50:25 am Changed over to an ally tank & swirl pot, I want a pump to feed the swirl pot, thinking about it, it doesn't need to be a high pressure pump.
So would something like this do - 140 lt p/hr http://i.ebayimg.com/t/12v-ELECTRIC-FUEL-PUMP-SOLID-STATE-DIESEL-PETROL-/00/s/NDQxWDUwMA==/$(KGrHqF,!oUE9dIWN!1wBPoZj1RRdg~~60_12.JPG (http://i.ebayimg.com/t/12v-ELECTRIC-FUEL-PUMP-SOLID-STATE-DIESEL-PETROL-/00/s/NDQxWDUwMA==/$(KGrHqF,!oUE9dIWN!1wBPoZj1RRdg~~60_12.JPG) (http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Heavy-Duty-Will-Suit-Diesel-Petrol-Universal-12v-Electric-Fuel-Pump-Kit-NEW-/00/s/MTMzNFgxNjAw/z/uesAAOxyRNJSeN9J/$(KGrHqFHJDkFJdd!i40!BSeN9J,bSQ~~60_12.JPG) or maybe this Facet might be better quality although similar flow http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Facet-12v-Low-Pressure-Posi-Flow-Electronic-Electrical-Fuel-Pump-Kit-/400531532095?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5d418a293f (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Facet-12v-Low-Pressure-Posi-Flow-Electronic-Electrical-Fuel-Pump-Kit-/400531532095?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5d418a293f) (http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Facet-12v-Low-Pressure-Posi-Flow-Electronic-Electrical-Fuel-Pump-Kit-/00/s/NTAwWDUwMA==/z/OlMAAOxyACJR5swu/$(KGrHqYOKosFHl9wTvqhBR5swuMOqg~~60_12.JPG) What you think? Title: Re: Fuel pump for swirl pot Q Post by: modnrod on November 20, 2013, 11:07:06 am If it's for your race car, then you could also incorproate a "cool can" surge tank down near the firewall somewhere.
Those pumps you listed above have always worked for me, but no matter how I mounted them they always seemed to either "hum" or vibrate a bit. I have found that the low-pressure external "roller cell" type pumps do the same kjob but are lots quieter, if that's a consideration. Not this pump necessarily, but this style........ http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carter-P74067-Electric-Fuel-Pump-Set-/301020819681?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item46163d30e1&vxp=mtr Title: Re: Fuel pump for swirl pot Q Post by: spanners on November 20, 2013, 18:41:09 pm I run a surge tank with carbs if only so i can run a lower fuel level, its before the main pump under the tank and gravity fed, no pump or wiring so reliable and light.
