Post by: Taylor on November 26, 2013, 05:19:04 am
Who if anyone makes a wide 5 front disk kit with no or minimal offset?  Thanks

CSP does. I also think airkewld does.

I've got the CB ones on my car and they required a narrowed beam to avoid the Roman Chariot look.

Although they are dropped spindle as well which I imagine doesn't help.

I might well be able to help you there.
What wheels do you want to run?
I have  had some made which allow wide 5 or Porsche (results in minus 12mm track from the wide 5) .
Features:
911 vented discs
Wilwood 4 pot callipers
Bespoke brackets
Billet  hubs

I'll post some photos tomorrow. Where are you based?

Cheers
Niko

I think it is the drop spindles that makes the difference.
i have the EMPI Kit on my car with repop BRM's.
They sit about 3/8 - 1/2" wider each side. But I did not want
to use a narrowed beam on my car. It was Randy Long that
convinced me to use the kit, the spindles with drums would
have done the same thing. It rubs a bit with two people in the
car with 145's. I'd like to try a lower/wider tire, but I'm cheap.
Maybe if /when I get some cosmo's I'll do a different tire.

Right now I'm wide 5 with a 2" narrowed beam and dropped drum spindles.   I like the way it looks now and want to keep it the same width.  I'm in Las Vegas USA

I believe that CSP disc brakes have the least offset.  Something like 6mm.  Don't know if that's true, but someone on here probably knows for sure.  I would think your 2 inch narrowed beam would be just about perfect.

This kit looks nice, made in the US.

Not sure they make it in 205pcd.

I'm not sure I could get a tire wide enough to ever use those fully.

Hey.
CSP have the kit "sero offset". I think it's around + 3,5 mm each side. I will use this kit on my new project.
On my last ride, I used the empi disc kit, on original drumspindles. This kit has the same offset as original drums. But the quality is better on the CSP kit.
Good luck.

This is what you'd get. They are 3" from the back face of the disc to the face of the hub.
These will be marketed and sold by me at the moment, so if you have questions please ask away. As they are a bespoke offering they are made to order (in other words they're not sat on a shelf, can't afford to do that).

Good point about the tires, brakes are only as good as the tires  ;) I'll be running a set of TOYO 888's on a spare set of my wheels for track days  :)

These are a cost effective contemporary alternative to sliding calipers, you know you want some  ;D

check the weight of that kit.
I would suggest either the CSP or aikweld kits.
I have a CSP new kit for sale....
