Trying to work out what size fuel line to run.
I may use aluminium hard lines down the center of the car.
What size filter etc.
I'm using a 044 Bosch pump.
Any formula I can use to check it will supply enough fuel for the motor?

AN6 all the way will easily support 450hp in an EFi configuration.

I was surprised to hear recently from a Fuelab technician that they ran 2x 1800hp pumps through one regulator with only a AN6 return !

Being concerned about fuel supply limitations/starvation, I had planned on using AN10 throughout so that information changed my thinking.

Hi Darren.
Motor is a 90 x 101.6 (2919cc).
I'm Running -8 fittings/lines, Aeromotive pre and post pump filters, -8 to -6 Y piece, -6 Fuel rails, Aeromotive EFI -6 Regulator with -6 return.
I've been told 500cc Injectors will be best.

Correct but there seems to be cult following of "oversize" when it comes to fuel systems and inductions.
Been using two pumps through one regulator for about 10 years and having only one pump running via ecu control and the other on a switch
although there were some "Experts" who informed me that the fuel pressure would bleed back through the secondary pump  ::)
If you look at the return port inside a high flow Aeromotive or a Holley regulator   you will see it is only about 3mm so you could quite easily get away with a -4 line on the return

I will be running this system:

Walbro 392 pump

AN8 line from tank to pump.

AN6 lines from pump to engine and back to tank

All my lines are goodridge 811 teflon hose, expensive, but very easy to bend and durable.  But twice cheaper at hosewarehouse than demontweeks or merlinmotorsport.

Where do you all place the regulator?

Currently my regulator is just below the tank next to my fuel pump, but I notice vw Mexico put the regulator near the engine , on the rear breast plate.

I've only ever had regulators in the engine bay, on a bracket near the deck lid mount.
It did make connecting the boost reference line easiest as all pressure pipe work is at that end.

I've never heard of a technical reason to keep a regulator near the injector rails or fuel tank.
Looked up the instructions for my current regulator (Fuelab) and it's not specified.

I put my regulator right after the fuel rals -- my thinking, the less pressurized fuel lines you have the less possiblity of leaks -- -- makes it easier for the boost reference too -- --

As far as fuel lines, I used thick wall 5/8" Aluminum lines and compression fittings for the connectors (I've ran the lines underneath the car) I had planned to do all 3/4" lines, even bought all the tubing and then found out how expensive the 3/4" compression fitting were (about 3x the cost of the 5/8"), it was cheaper to throw away all the 3/4" tubing and start over -- so went with 5/8" -- Cheap Bastard Huh? LOL
