Title: Transmission ratios
Post by: Andy Sykes on January 30, 2014, 17:33:59 pm
Hi guys, my transmission is about to be started on and being as my engine hasn't been dynoed yet I don't have any real idea where the power will be, but speaking to others and looking into it it looks like it's going to be 5-5500 rpm so two fixed things I have at the moment are 26 inch tyres and 3.88 R&P

This one I think is ok till maybe 3rd and it's dropping to 5.2k so maybe just off boost

This one a little better as it's 5.7k so should be well on boost at this point.

any thoughts or changes you guys can offer before I give in the ratios :)

Cheers Andy

30 bhp?  Stock 1600?
Nobody can give any valid opinion until at least some estimate of hp is made.

Engine power wise should be plenty 2900 cc pauter turbo

26" tyre
3.88 FD
change at 8k

Gear          RPM      MPH

1st 2.75       0        58
2nd 1.88    5500     85
3rd 1.44     6000    114
4th 1.05     6000    152
