Title: Leaking push rod tubes Post by: mychatype3 on August 07, 2007, 12:50:35 pm Hello loungers,
I have a 76x94 engine, with compression off 10.5:1, my cylinder heads are fly-cut. I have the csp push rod tubes and the are leaking..... the fit very tight :-\ Do you have experience with leaking push rod tubes... can it be that the total engine length is to small ? that i have to cut the springs or that i have to take something off the tube so that it's not to much compressed??? the rubbers are being forced outside... Hope to here from you Greetings mycha CSP Push Rod Tubes Type-1 CNC machined from high grade aluminium dual internal viton O-rings prevent leaks heavy duty stainless steal external spring keeps pressure on the seals when the engine expands 22mm ID on the head side to clear push rods on high lift engines 19mm ID on the case side for quick oil return anodized for a long lasting finish comes with german pushrod tube seals Made in Germany. Look into it, it has happened before ::)

Look into it, it has happened before ::) Yes case is venting, and i turned the rings several times so the seated well... it's not a case off venting/blowby i think.... it's like the rubbers are forced outside... that there is to much pressure on them.... ??? thanks for your replay mycha Title: Re: Leaking push rod tubes Post by: lawrence on August 07, 2007, 18:45:30 pm When I assembled my 94x69 motor I didnt use any sealant on the pushrod tube seals because I was told it wasn't necessary with the white, german tube seals. Well, the tubes DID leak. I recently replaced the crappy p/r tubes with better ones. This time I used german seals AND To#¤ta liquid gasket, ZERO leaks.
So, get some permatex, rtv, curil t, etc...whatever liquid gasket you can find and some new, white, german p/r tube seals. Put a nice coat of sealant on the seals(both the case and head ends). Make sure you don't catch the seal on the backside of the cylinder head, the seal may tear. Let the sealant dry overnight before running the motor. From now on I will ALWAYS use sealant on my motors. I would also call CSP first and see what they think about cutting the springs. Good luck! Title: Re: Leaking push rod tubes Post by: Gunter on August 08, 2007, 13:58:12 pm Hi there
please sent mail to gh@csp-shop.de I will mail instructions from our kit maybe there has been a mistake when fitting the tubes they are on high pressure and you never have to cut the springs I have all instructions in a pdf data it also states to use some oil, and turn tubes untill seals sit perfect but you could check yourself reading the instructions please keep me updated thanks Gunter Title: Re: Leaking push rod tubes Post by: mychatype3 on August 08, 2007, 15:22:01 pm Hello Gunter,
thanks fore your replay. I have the instructions ;) The problems are solved, your kit is super no questions about that :) The problem was my "refection plates" (i think you call them that way !!!) (the plates under the cylinders) were sitting to low so the interfered with the push rod tubes. I fixed it yesterday and now the are fine. No leaks anymore. The kit is a fine part of machinery.
