Title: Engine build advice
Post by: Rich_h on February 16, 2014, 19:58:02 pm
So I'm  looking for some advice on my next motor  build its a street & strip engine based around parts I've been collecting
so I have
74mm CB crank
Street Eliminator (42 x 37.5) 94 bore
94mm a spec pistons
Fk87

My questions  is it best to run a set of
Cb Super Race Rods - VW rod journal - 5.325"
Or
Cb Super Race Rods - VW rod journal - 5.400"
With barrel spacers
On this spec

Cheers Rich

With that short stroke you could use the short rods with good results, the higher piston speed/accelerations give good cylinder filling, but why only the 74 stroke? just  Be sure to check piston underside clearance on the crank webs at BDC ,

Definitely the short rods.

Yeah because you're going to notice the .075".  Use whichever ones you can get cheaper.  unless you're hell bent on making your motor .150" narrower.

I have been collected bit over the last few years and in so my build has change over & over again
The first plan was to be 74mm & 92mm 1967cc but the 94mm cut heads turned up so all Change
Plus want to build something different  ;D
