Title: Berg Traction Bar Instructions?
Post by: Taylor on February 18, 2014, 23:27:24 pm
Does anyone have Berg's traction bar instructions they could post up?  I'm looking for where they say to put the hangers. Thanks

If you break the rear window, then you have adjusted the two ends a bit too tight.

If you have a look on Deanodynosoar's build thread you'll see some great custom mounts. I've never liked the way the Berg ones sit.

There is usually a hole in the body that the hanger bolt will go into, may have to open to 3/8 of an inch and bend bolts into more than 90 degree hook.

I followed the Berg instructions and I have had no issues :)

He's right. A real man would weld the brackets on.  ;D

I guess some people don't like the way Berg did anything...

I understand that it works, but it is a bit crude (like a lot of Berg parts). I never met Gene, but I am good friends with Gary. I think it's fair to say the Berg's are more engineers than they are designers.

Gene was more interested in function.  When he got something that worked he didn't in most cases go any further to make it look pretty.  He was an incredible guy and tested everything he made before selling it.  Say what you want, he was great!  I do miss our conversations...!
