in a little town called Tenino - nice little day trip. You are near Olympia and plenty going on there. I have been up that way a few times, but never found any VW events while there. I know they have events, there is a big one in Yakima in November / December. (great weather) Enjoy the move, that area puts you close to many activities and cultural stuff in the Seattle area. And just think how close you'll be to Vancouver, BC. Yup, but about 120 miles north of Shelton (closer to the North Pole). I don't know about VW events in the Shelton area but VWs are alive and doing well in Washington.
