Title: Wiring!! What Have you Got kicking around?? Post by: plasticblack on June 02, 2014, 20:28:55 pm I'm after some wiring for my project. VW Beetle circa 1968-1972.
I'd like to make up my wiring form as many odds and ends people have lying around in their garages or workshops? I've had no luck finding a whole loom for the project and I certainly don't want a 'Buggy' style loom and have no chance of forking out £200+ for a custom job. Please don't think that a couple of wires isn't any good to me, because I'll be happy with everything and anything... Please let me know and I'll get back to you. ;D Title: Re: Wiring!! What Have you Got kicking around?? Post by: Neil Davies on June 02, 2014, 21:35:56 pm Paul, I used the loom kit from vw heritage. It's about £180 but well worth it. Most of the wires I took out had either been cut down, spliced into or simply corroded virtually all the way along their length. It simply wasn't safe to use. You may be better off getting the loom out of a T25 for the extra length.
For the race car I'm thinking about using 7 core trailer wire if I can find it cheap enough. |
