Title: Rear engine brace needed with solid mounts ?
Post by: Rocket Ron on June 02, 2014, 21:58:23 pm
Hi

Is there any need to run a rear engine brace with solid gearbox mounts front and mid

Frame horns are tied into the cage

What's your thoughts ?

Ps don't have much to hang it off anyway as it's cut way quite a bit in the rear

Jim Smith recommended I still use mine after I had my cage fitted.
But if you have no inner wings not sure what you can do anyway

I'm thinking the light weight of the car makes a difference lee

Must be 80-100 kg lighter than your car wouldn't you say ?

You could be right with the weight.
Just give it a go....

It will be fine, old cab doesn't use a traction bar since the cage was tied into the frame forks

i have the motor mount tied to the package tray where the roll bar plates are welded in, no brace. works good.
